Bamboule

Sport/Short Film, Germany 2015

A sports field in Brandenburg. In the middle of nowhere. Benjamin Scholl (Max Kluge) has once again been forgotten. By his dad. At soccer training of all things. A misanthropic groundsman (Jef Bayonne) and a few rice cakes are all he has left. “14 minutes, two main actors, one location. From this reduced mixture, student director Simon Ostermann from the Babelsberg Film University creates a wonderfully entertaining short film with absolutely harmonious timing. Although there is not much dialogue, the exchange between the two actors is staged so precisely that all the information and characterizations are conveyed through the images. [...] The camera, the production design and the music are perfect in their realization of the strong script. And so Simon Ostermann succeeds in making a fine little short film pearl about an unusual friendship.” (FBW statement: “Particularly valuable”)
